Sydney Bush was born and raised in Buckhannon, WV. She attended and graduated from both Buckhannon-Upshur High School (class of 2013) and West Virginia Wesleyan College. In 2017, she earned her bachelor’s degree is history and secondary education where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. During her time at Wesleyan, Sydney studied abroad at Teikyo-Berlin University in Berlin, Germany where she completed coursework in German History whilst touring the northeastern portion of this beautiful country. In college, she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha fraternity, WELEAD invisible illness team, West Virginia Wesleyan Republicans debate team, Omicron Delta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Societies, and Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society. In 2021, Miss Bush began classes at Liberty University where she graduated with her Masters of Education degree in December of 2023 earning highest honors. She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi International Educators Honor Society through Liberty. In the near future, she plans on attending Liberty again to receive her Ed.S degree as a curriculum specialist in technology integration. She currently resides in Buckhannon where she spends her time amongst family, friends, and her pets (dogs Charlie, Scarlett, and Leia) (Enzo and Gomez, her cats) . She enjoys autumn, hiking, photography, reading, spending time with loved ones, and all things West Virginia. Miss Bush has been a part of our school family for the last seven years educating students in both the seventh and eighth grade programs, with additional experience in fifth and sixth grades. Her favorite subject to teach is reading and West Virginia history. Miss Bush is our lead yearbook adviser, event photographer, website manager, and has co-directed as well as led several of our Christmas programs. The Saint she idolizes most is St. Therese of Lisieux for her “simplicity in faith and total confidence in God in which many draw hope and encouragement in times of doubt and difficulty” (Ewing, 2024).
