Literature

The study of literature begins in 5th grade. In 5th grade, the students are taught the basic vocabulary of literature. This vocabulary includes concepts such as plot structure, characterization, figurative language, and point of view. Literature stories are used to develop these concepts.

In Secondary, the literature used reflects the history being studied. For example in Year A, the students will read Iliad and other Greek and Roman works.

For each grade, the capstone literature experience is the study of a Shakespearian play.
