Snow Day/Tech Day Assignments

    The following assignments are to be completed each snow day.  On our first snow day, assignment #1 will be completed.  The second snow day will be #2 assignment and so on.  No assignments are to be completed on 2 hr delay days.

    I will be sending home all of the worksheets.  Please find a safe place to keep them so you will have them on these days.

    If we have a snow day on a Monday, I will send a link to our weekly story for your child to read (they won’t have their reading books).  Also on Monday snow days, students are to write their new spelling words in their planners.

    All assignments are expected to be turned in on our next school day.

 

Day 1 –

 

  • Write 5 sentences, neatly, using spelling words (one spelling word per sentence)
  • Read our weekly story to someone – answer the essential question in a complete sentence
  • Ixl skills – B.3 (Math) and D.2 (Language)
  • If you do not have access, you will complete worksheets marked #1.  If you are able to complete ixl skills, then you may ignore the worksheets.

 

Day 2 –

 

  • Read our weekly story to someone, then write a 3 sentence summary about the story.  Use complete sentences (uppercase beginning letter, punctuation, sentences must make sense.  Also remember that sentences do not begin with the word “and”)
  • Write your numbers backward starting with 50

 

Day 3 –

 

  • Write how to make a snowman using the transitional words – first, next, then, and last
  • Read our weekly story to someone
  • Ixl skill – F.2 (language)
  • If you do not have access, please complete worksheet marked #3. You may ignore the worksheet if you are able to complete ixl skill.

 

Day 4 –

 

  • Write the addition doubles from 0 – 10 (ex. 0 + 0 = 0)
  • Read weekly story to someone – answer the essential question using a complete sentence.
  • Complete the worksheet marked #4

 

Day 5

 

  • Write 5 sentences, neatly, using spelling words (one spelling word per sentence)
  • Read our weekly story to someone
  • Complete worksheet marked #5

 

Day 6

 

  • Write all the ways to make 10
  • Read our weekly story to someone
  • Ixl skills – H.5 (math) S.2 (language)
  • If you do not have access, you will complete worksheets marked #6. If you are able to do ixl then please ignore the worksheets.

 

Day 7

 

  • Write a story about your favorite day.  You must have a beginning, a middle and an ending and at least 7 sentences.
  • Read our weekly story to someone

 

Day 8

 

  • Measure the snow with a ruler or yardstick – How many inches?
  • Watch your favorite show or movie then write 4 sentences telling me about it.
  • Read our weekly story to someone and answer the Essential Question
  • Skip count by 5’s backward beginning with 100 – write them on paper
