So it has come to my attention that some parents would like to assist their students in studying for the quizzes we have each Friday. I will make an effort to post a “parent review” of what will be on these tests so that you all can see some example problems and formulate ways to study at home with your children! Below is the spelling word list, examples of grammar items and math problems similar to the one your students will be assessed on tomorrow:
Spelling List 3:
The students will need to locate subject, predicate, and nouns within a sentence. Below is an example of what I would like to see: Notice the brackets to separate the subject side and the predicate side and the circles for just the nouns on each side.
We have been doing the vocab and reading the Spider Diary all week in class. The Pages in the reading book are pg. 102 for the vocab and 106-129 for the story. The students will be asked to answer basic plot questions about the story and define the word on page 102 in a multiple choice format.
Math: We have been working on adding and subtracting the numbers between 0-10 in combinations. See below for examples: The quiz tomorrow will be much like what you see below. i.e. with only ADDITION and NO SUBTRACTION.
1 + 7 = ?
? + 2 = 6
9 + ? = 10
I hope these examples will help you and your child to prepare for the four assessments we have tomorrow. I will have the items graded and in the grade book asap after tomorrow!
